Expand the Rink believes that some of hockey's greatest opportunities for player development come not only from competition, but from the environments, relationships, and experiences that surround it.

That's why we design intentional hockey experiences that combine meaningful competition with cultural exchange, service, and reflection. By bringing players, coaches, clubs, and communities together, we create opportunities to broaden perspectives, strengthen character, and deepen a lifelong connection to the game.

Why it Matters

Player development doesn't happen in familiar environments alone. When players compete in new places, experience different styles of hockey, navigate unfamiliar cultures, and build relationships beyond their own community, they develop adaptability, confidence, curiosity, and perspective. Those lessons stay with them long after the trip ends.

We do not seek to replace traditional player development.

We seek to expand the environments in which it occurs.

OUR STORY

Why We Started

Hockey has always been more than games and practices. Some of the most meaningful lessons come from the environments that surround them—the people we meet, the places we experience, the conversations we have, and the challenges we navigate together.

Expand the Rink was created to intentionally design those experiences. We don't believe international hockey replaces traditional development. We believe it expands it by placing players in environments that encourage curiosity, adaptability, connection, and perspective.
